Chiggers (1991-2001)

got inspired to do this for a project that Chris Fischer is helping to put together called "Missing Electrons In Nebraska", a "mock 3-d zine", with Ron Rege Jr., Charlie McAlister, Rowboat, Jake Anderson and others. It's partly based on a series of compulsive sequential drawings I did in the early 90's. This is one four pages.

Bluegrass Frogs (1987)

Some happy frog musicians from a poster I did for a local bluegrass festival.

"Backbone Poster" (1974)

I used to do a lot of posters for local bands, but these guys were quite unusual; they actually paid me! $25 which was "big-time".

"Postcards" (1996)

One of several pieces I put together utilizing images from a series of sequential drawings I did on pieces of cardboard which I proceeded to mail to my "ex", who had moved far away. I mailed a postcard a day, until I ran out of insanity. She was so pleased with my efforts she waited 7 years before she spoke to me again.

Alcohol Painting (1998)

Playing with colored felt pens, paper and alcohol, produces a sort of watercolor effect.

Mourning Flowers (1998)

Part of this drawing was used to make the 2nd Marissa Nadler album cover.

Lower Falls of the Yellowstone (1961)

I took this picture when I first visited this place. I thought it was one on the most terrifying and beautiful things I'd ever seen. I saw it again many years later, and it was still every bit as intense and overwhelming.

Halloween Party (1992)

I'd like to dedicate this one to the late great John Nichols, and a lost world or two.

Uno (1999)

An early computer collage thing.

Chums (1990)

One the first ones. Running around the in the street naked at night when I was 12 years old.

Chums (1991)

Getting drunk at 13 on a little bit of everything in your parent's liquor cabinet.

Chums (1991-94)

One of the last ones I did. The true life stories of school kids had grown up, and some of those same kids were dropping dead, or going mad. I've recently scripted a few dozen new chapters, which will eventually see the light of day.

"Petroglyphs" (1993)

A few different petroglyphs I photographed on a trip through the southeastern California desert. Best wishes to Jojo and Scot Woodland.

"Broken Face #11" (2001)

This is what I had in mind for the cover of issue #11 of this great Swedish 'zine. For more info see our "Friends" section.

"Acid Stripper" (1999)

"Brother Wolf" (1991)

I did this as a sort of logo for a local band awhile ago. I always thought it turned out quite well.
